Caller lookup and caller recognition

Live since Nov 3, 2026 (bestdealon.app 068b4c7, callbots-bdo ee5b1f2).

What the caller hears

  • Recognised caller: "Welcome back, John! This is the Best Deal On AI assistant. How can I help?"
  • Follow-up when useful: "Should someone from our team call you back at this number, or should I email you at your Gmail email on file?" A call back is logged as a message for the team (take_message); no time is promised and the number is never read aloud.

Where a match comes from

  1. Newsletter records in callbots-bdo: a phone linked to a newsletter email (confirmed, and — for Best Deal On only — unconfirmed). Gives a first name and, for confirmed addresses only, an "email on file".
  2. bestdealon.app caller-profile (signed): matches a verified, owned, not-suspended listing phone; an active account whose username is the number; or SMS consent linked to an account. RF Safe's number is always unknown.

The response (only these fields)

{ "known": true, "name": "Example Shop", "name_kind": "business", "account": true,
  "listing_phone_verified": true, "email_on_file": true, "email_verified": false,
  "email_label": "Gmail" }

email_label is a provider ("Gmail", "Outlook", "iCloud", …), the business name when the domain is the business's own, otherwise the bare domain. Never the part before the @, never a number or id. Unknown: {"known": false}. Flag off: {"known": false, "reason": "off"}.

Security rules (enforced in prompt text and tests)

  • Caller ID can be spoofed: the caller is NOT verified and NOT the owner because of it.
  • Never read back or confirm an email, phone number or account detail; only confirm what the caller says first.
  • No account changes, resets, verifications, claims or skipped checks from a phone match.
  • Tests assert the full address never appears in the instructions, greeting, tool definitions or tool results the voice model sees.

Limits

  • A match found only on bestdealon.app has no sendable address (the site returns a label only); the bot asks for the address.
  • quantaxtechnology.com comes back as the bare domain from the site; the bot speaks it as "Quanta X Technology".
